I remembered the first book being insanely good, and I've read the entire series。 Having aliens with super powers was a great twist on an already popular young adult theme。 And I have to say, the book is so much better than the movie。 The movie took some of Number Four's abilities and gave them to Number Six。 I think the directors were trying to make Six represent strong females, but it made me mad。 I remembered the first book being insanely good, and I've read the entire series。 Having aliens with super powers was a great twist on an already popular young adult theme。 And I have to say, the book is so much better than the movie。 The movie took some of Number Four's abilities and gave them to Number Six。 I think the directors were trying to make Six represent strong females, but it made me mad。 。。。more

The first 3 books were pretty good and the rest was kind of a bummer。

I really don't feel like this series gets enough love。 While i have some things that i don't like about the books, my overall thoughts about the series was incredibly positive。 Good pacing, well written characters and very well written and choreographed fight scenes。 Also at least a few big surprises that was totally unexpected。 In conclusion very gripping and enjoyable series。 I really don't feel like this series gets enough love。 While i have some things that i don't like about the books, my overall thoughts about the series was incredibly positive。 Good pacing, well written characters and very well written and choreographed fight scenes。 Also at least a few big surprises that was totally unexpected。 In conclusion very gripping and enjoyable series。 。。。more

Overall the 7 book series was entertaining, and that's what reading this kind of series of novels is all about。。。so mission accomplished - COVID-19 can kiss my butt!!!!It is written for 15 - 18 years audience, so keep in mind it's rather easy reading for most adults; nonetheless, the subject matter is well handled, characters are decent (my 2 issues are listed below, but one of them is the narration and character development/uniqueness is lacking), plot doesn't trudge through very often, and the Overall the 7 book series was entertaining, and that's what reading this kind of series of novels is all about。。。so mission accomplished - COVID-19 can kiss my butt!!!!It is written for 15 - 18 years audience, so keep in mind it's rather easy reading for most adults; nonetheless, the subject matter is well handled, characters are decent (my 2 issues are listed below, but one of them is the narration and character development/uniqueness is lacking), plot doesn't trudge through very often, and the overall plot is interesting - aliens sent to save us from other aliens, kind of reminds me of Superman just a bit。 My best comparison, not for subject matter or plot, but for its substance would be Clive Cussler's 'Dirk Pitt' novels。。。they're light reading, purely to ground away some bored hours instead of bingeing 5 hours of Netflix or Prime or Hulu。The 2nd book was very disappointing; however, compared with the first book, well there is no comparison。 It's like for book #2 the editor must've been on vacation。 There are numerous grammatical errors as well as phrases that are incorrect, i。e。 when a sentence is discussing a group of people as the subject, then the remaining part of the sentence must continue to use "us" or "we"; however, several times this mistake is made。 I think part of the issue is the author is British, so it doesn't read so well for those Yankees speaking their improper English。。。meh, I've digressed。The series is wildly entertaining and books 5 - 7 are incredible pieces of action and adventure writing。 I was honestly surprised several time in the plot/story, which is always a good thing - keep the reader guessing and ensure that even beloved characters are not safe from dismemberment of even death。2 Issues:1。 The crazy narration begins in book 2。 We have several narrators, all distinguished apart by a different font。 There's not a single name given in the chapter headings, which would have been a nice addition for those who read as quickly as me, that way easily a reader can know who is narrating in that exact moment (the narrators also switch POV during scenes and that's the most annoying part of these books)。2。 Character development is severely lacing in one respect。 The voice of the several different narrators just sound so much alike, perhaps because the author beings by telling us he is John Smith, aka Number Four。。。then we're given 5 other narrators point of view, yet they all speak and think almost identically。 It's annoying that each narrator isn't given unique characteristics that distinguishes one from another。 An example would be a catch phrase or common phrase, such as Six could've used the word "freaking" all the time。。。because that's how teenagers actually do speak。 Or Nine could've said "Sure" all the time instead of "Yes"。 I'm done complaining now。Worth the 30 or so hours to digest, but keep in mind。。。it's YOUNG ADULT fiction。 。。。more

The Lorian Legacies is the classic story of aliens launching an invasion to take over Earth。 It provides the added twist of another group of aliens, the few survivors of their own planet’s destruction, here trying to stop them。 Once over the awkwardness of reading in the first person, the story unfolds in a thrilling action movie sort of way and only gets better as the series moves along。tThe characters are distinct and remain true to form throughout…。 Though it seems almost too convenient that The Lorian Legacies is the classic story of aliens launching an invasion to take over Earth。 It provides the added twist of another group of aliens, the few survivors of their own planet’s destruction, here trying to stop them。 Once over the awkwardness of reading in the first person, the story unfolds in a thrilling action movie sort of way and only gets better as the series moves along。tThe characters are distinct and remain true to form throughout…。 Though it seems almost too convenient that there appears no end to the fortuitous super powers they are constantly acquiring。tThe ending was a given but as the situation for the protagonists became more and more dire I couldn’t quite figure out how the author was going to get there。 Needless to say, when it happened I had a true appreciation for just how well crafted that last book was — right down to the final sentence, which made me smile。 。。。more

The series ‘Lorien Legacies’ is about these ordinary teenagers who receive extraterrestrial powers in order to save the world from being taken over by evil aliens known as ‘Mogadorians’。 When Pittacus Lore wrote ‘Our world is in grave danger!’ it made me think about how desperate the situation was and how they wanted to save Planet Earth so badly。 This issue is significant to me because it is one of the lines that stands out the most as it’s short and simple yet powerful。Another important thing The series ‘Lorien Legacies’ is about these ordinary teenagers who receive extraterrestrial powers in order to save the world from being taken over by evil aliens known as ‘Mogadorians’。 When Pittacus Lore wrote ‘Our world is in grave danger!’ it made me think about how desperate the situation was and how they wanted to save Planet Earth so badly。 This issue is significant to me because it is one of the lines that stands out the most as it’s short and simple yet powerful。Another important thing Pittacus Lore said was ‘Their warships loom over our most populous cities like New York City, Tokyo, Moscow, Beijing, and New Delhi and no army will risk making a move against them。’ It made me think about how the military stands no chance against them and how they’re hopeless。 This issue is relevant to me because the author compares that the opposition is very strong to our human armies。I recommend this text because it’s a unique piece of writing and highly relatable as quite a few teenagers fantasise of obtaining superpowers from time to time。 。。。more
